Bing Cherry Clafouti
It’s so refreshing to finally feel Spring weather after such a long and painful Winter and for me when I have thoughts of Spring, thoughts of Bing Cherries are not far behind!
The season for this delicious fruit starts the beginning of April and ends sometime in June. The Wellness Please crowd are big fans of this impressive little fruit because the benefits are amazing and plentiful. Check these out:

Are you looking for a special treat to start off your mornings or savor for dessert? It just takes 45 minutes to transform Bing cherries into Clafouti magic. (Do you have multi-collagen? You’re halfway there…)
We’re here to say Clafoutis is one of the simplest French pastries you could ever make and today we are sharing our healthier version. In this recipe we use super sweet pitted Bing cherries that sit in a puffed/pancake-y type sponge cake. You can imagine it to be the French cousin of a Dutch baby!
It’s simple to make, so you have nothing to lose and a yummy collagen enhanced dessert to gain!
Delicious bing cherries are in season right now, you can find them at Whole Foods or any local farm stand.
Serve it up warm with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a scoop of smooth vanilla bean ice cream.

2 cups Bing cherries, pitted
½ cup granulated sugar
3 organic eggs
1 cup organic milk
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
½ pure almond extract
¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt
Butter or Ghee to coat the pan
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 10-inch pie pan with 1 tablespoon of butter and set aside.
In a medium bowl, beat eggs with sugar. Add the flour, vanilla and almond extract, milk (of choice), and Wellness Please collagen protein powder and beat until well blended. Set mixture aside.
Arrange a single-layer of the cherries over the bottom of the greased pan. Pour the mixture over the cherries and bake for 40-45 minutes or until puffed and light golden brown around the edges. Set pie pan aside and let cool for 15 minutes. Dig into this dessert while it is still deliciously warm.
