Health benefits from Mother Nature
1. Amazing Air Purifiers
I’m a bit of a stickler when it comes to clean air. Most of my adult life I’ve lived in old houses, and although I find them beautiful they sometimes have serious issues with mold. I like to cover my bases so I use a Molecule Purifier plus plants that are known to filter air naturally. Some of the popular household plants that I use: Spider plant, Sword fern, Common ivy, Areca palm, Snake plant and Dracaena.
These plants improve the air quality by removing pollutants that can come from synthetic furniture or carpets.
2. Wards Off Illness
Strategic placement of a plant can stave off fatigue and sickness due to increased humidity in the air. Plants create moisture through the process of transpiration, this process releases vapors from the plant into its environment. Smart move to put a fern on your bedside table or your cubicle at work!
3. Healing Properties
Our green companions have long proven to sport medicinal qualities. Just having them in a room nearby eases anxiety and makes you happier! Surgical patients that had an indoor plant in their room had lower blood pressure and heal more quickly. There are also reports of patients requesting less pain medication and were released sooner from the hospital than patients without the air purifying plants in their rooms.
4. Elevated Mood
Just the presence of plants shifts your vibe. There is a natural feeling of having a better quality of life with beautiful houseplants around. I love having living cilantro, basil or mint in my kitchen as mood elevator, to sniff as I please when I walk by!
5. Better Focus
Studies have shown that when plants are present there’s more of an ability to concentrate, memorize and work harder than without beneficial greenery around.
